Sandi's Soda Bread





2 cups of Artisan, unbleached, Whole meal flour

1 cup of self-raising flour

1 tsp salt

1tsp sugar

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda mixed with

1 tbspoon Balsamic Vinegar

500ml plain yoghurt




  1. Mix the flours, salt and sugar.

  2. Add the vinegar to the bicarb and mix with the yoghurt.

  3. Add the yoghurt to the flours and mix.

  4. Sometimes its easier to use your hands and encourage your child to help!

  5. Place dough in a greased bread tin.

  6. Cook at 180*C for 1 hr

  7. The bread continues to 'dry out' after cooking so dont worry if it is a little moist on the inside after cooking!
